The Reasons 'Inside Llewyn Davis' Was Denied a Best Picture Nomination

The best movies of the year should be in the running for Best Picture at the Oscars.  It just makes sense.  It doesn't always end up that way.  There are politics and semantics that get in the way from a picture being properly recognized.  'Inside Llewyn Davis' is the latest example of one of the best films of its year being denied a spot on the ballot.  I analyze why this happened and reveal a bit how the Academy works in my latest Collective Publishing pop culture column.
