The moans of school returning are echoing through the halls, so it must mean it is the end of the summer. It is time for the Breakdown of the 2016 Summer Movie Season. It was a rough summer for the big budget studio tentpoles but a great one for mid-budget comedies, thrillers and horrors. We analyze the last four months to see what worked, what failed and what it all says about the future of big studio tentpoles. As well, in our news bite segment we discuss the controversy surrounding Nate Parker and his movie The Birth of a Nation.
